Online workshops as continuation of the NEST project

01 June 2020

The Pandemic of Covid19 virus has created an unprecedented situation in world tourism. It is still difficult to measure the total impact of this situation on the travel sector, while an unclear and unstable future is highly plausible for many areas of tourism. In order to understand what future can bring for sustainable tourism development and how developing countries can respond to the expected crisis in a post-pandemic world, the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) of University of Bologna organizes a series of online workshops starting from the first week of June. Events are organized in collaboration with the University Residential Centre at Bertinoro (Ce.U.B.) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

Workshops represent a continuation of a project Network of Education on Sustainable Tourism (NEST) which CAST has been developing with the aforementioned organizations. Besides NEST alumni, CAST and project partners’ members, external experts will attend and actively participate in these workshops. At the same time, participation is open to everyone interested in these topics with compulsory prior registration.

The first workshop is planned for 04/06/2020 at 16.30 (Italian time) with title “Future for sustainable tourism post-Covid19 – opportunities and challenges for NEST countries”. The registration form for attending this event is available at this link.

All registered participants will receive a link for participation before the event.

Other two workshops are programmed for 18/06 and 02/07 respectively and links for registration will be published on CAST’s website and social media channels. All events will be held in English.

Access to the workshops will be through Microsoft Teams app, which can be accessed via web browser or directly through the app installed on your PC or smartphone (download the app for free)
